  6. This  program  converts ASCII text files into pages of columns, 
  7. maintaining the order down the columns and  from  the  bottom of
  8. the most right-hand column of one page to the top of the left-hand
  9. column of the following page. The original file is left intact and
  10. a new file <filename>.col is generated.
